It’s interesting to note throughout the course of the research for our business, how many local cleaners offer End of Tenancy cleaning services. The price range for these services differs vastly depending on the service provider, (from £70 to £470 for a 4 bedroom property) prompting us to think that not all End of Tenancy cleans are equal. To provide a full move out deep clean of any property takes many hours of hard work and you never know what level of cleaning is required until you arrive at the job when the property is empty, particularly kitchens and bathrooms.
A 4 bed property would take around 10-12 man hours to deep clean properly including oven cleaning, appliances and internal windows & frames. It’s not likely that £70 will buy you that many hours!!
As an ex- Ministry of Defence Housing Officer doing military march outs on a daily basis and having worked for a private landlord for 5 years personally undertaking move out inspections, I know the high standards required and any cleaner offering an End of Tenancy clean for a few quid would make me worry about how many corners are being cut to get the job done in the shortest time possible.
The decision to hire a move out cleaner is often based on cost alone. When hiring, many clients will opt for the services of a regular domestic cleaner due to a lower hourly rate. If the return of your deposit is important to you then the cleaning service you use should be too. It therefore pays to do your research when hiring your move out cleaners, go for someone priced about half way between the range for your property size and you shouldn’t go far wrong.
